Nathanael Gray Lab - Cancer Chemical Biology

Theresa Manz

Theresa Manz is a German graduate student in the department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at Saarland University, Germany, where she studied Pharmaceutical Sciences from 2010 – 2014. Following her graduation, she joined Prof. Nathanael S. Gray’s lab at Harvard Medical School/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for the first time as part of her research thesis that she performed during her year of Practical Training under supervision of Prof. Rolf W. Hartmann (Saarland University). After returning to Germany in 2015, Theresa finished her Practical Training to obtain the German Pharmacist’s degree in 2016. In November 2015, she started working as a PhD student in Prof. Christian Ducho’s lab, where she was interested in the development of a chemical probe to study a class of potential new nucleoside-peptide antibiotics. During this time, she kept working as a Pharmacist in a local pharmacy on weekends. Since September 2017, Theresa has returned to Prof. Gray’s lab for 2 years as part of her PhD thesis to work on the development of small-molecule kinase inhibitors, focusing on novel cancer therapeutics
